Within the framework of the Slither project, financed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Sappi, the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides et d’Acoustique (UMR 5509) and Phimeca are participating in the optimization of media flows in an aeronautical parts scraping device.

Objectives

Develop

a CFD numerical model of the scraping head dealing with both the high air flow velocities and the transport of the scraping media.

Implement and Process

the rebound uncertainties related to the non-sphericity of the scraping particles.

Validate

the numerical model by comparison with a test campaign.

Optimise

the performance of the scraping head using the validated numerical model.
