cONTEXT
Our client contacted Phimeca to develop a tool that would reduce the time needed to carry out heat balances for :
- Vessels with a large number of rooms;
- Different configurations.
What’s more, the automation of the steps will help to avoid errors that might otherwise be made by users.
Results
Together with Naval Group, Phimeca has developed a business tool for establishing static and dynamic heat balances for ships.
This tool has a graphical user interface (GUI) and 2 solvers, one dedicated to static balances and the other to dynamic balances. The GUI is used to enter data (definition of wall types, environments, air conditioning units, etc.), which will be used by the solvers. Using the input data, the solvers then establish the temperatures and humidity levels of the premises if they have been calculated, and their air-conditioning capacities if not.
The HMI consists of pages for :
- data entry;
- data validation using a flowchart and colour code;
- management of calculation cases using a choice table;
- post-processing of heat balance results (in this case dynamic).
